Skin Cleanser Program – The First Step To Better Looking Skin
Cleansing of the skin helps the skin to maintain a healthy, attractive looking surface. It removes dust, perspiration, and reduces the production of sebum. Your daily skin care routine must begin with a skin cleanser program. Your mantra for skin care routine should be cleansing, toning and moisturizing.
Different Cleansers For Different Types Of Skins
Different types of skins need different types of cleansers. You should choose your cleanser according to your skin type and the ingredients that go into the product to enable your skin to benefit from the cleanser.
Oily Skin: Cleansers for oily skin use products that wash off easily without leaving any residue. Bar soaps and liquid cleansers are appropriate for this type of skin. Cleansers for oily skins have a higher astringent base to soak up excess oil. Most cleansers leave a `tingly’ feeling.
Dry Skin: People with dry skin should avoid using bar soaps on their faces. If you have dry skin, then chances are that the skin on your face will be drier than the rest of your body. Most soaps have a tendency to dry the skin as surface oils are removed. Dry skin cleansers should be oil based – like almond oil, olive oil.
You can even wash your face with yogurt. Mix face cream with a little water, rub it gently and leave for some time before washing it off with warm water. Avoid using soap on your face during the winter months when the humidity levels are particularly low.
Normal skin
People with normal skin (neither too oily nor too dry), can cleanse with bar soaps or liquid cleansers. Most store-bought cleansers are clearly marked for the skin type for which it is meant to be used – `Normal’, `Oily’ or `Dry’. Raw milk works effectively as a skin cleanser. The fabled beauty Cleopatra is supposed to have bathed only in milk.
Cleansers For Acne Prone Skin
For acne prone skin, there are gentle skin cleansers. Mild cleansers should be used if your skin is feeling inflamed or irritated. There are different types of specific acne cleansers that you can use for daily skin care. These cleansers are generally oil-free and help in unclogging pores.
Acne sufferers in their zeal to keep their skins clean, often tend to over cleanse their skins causing irritation, which leads the skin to produce even more oil. This may then complicate the skin care routine. Acne cleansers contain antibacterial properties. These are used to remove excess oil, make-up, sweat and dirt deposited on skin surface. These products make it easier for absorption of topical acne treatments.
Excessive use of acne cleansers should be avoided as it can lead to dry sensitive skin. Using a cleanser once or twice daily for acne prone skin is fine.
Using a cleanser last thing at night before going to bed is compulsory for all skin types. All the build up of dirt, grime, pollutants and traces of make-up have to be removed to enable the skin breathe and rejuvenate itself while you sleep.
